Is the 806 a gas? Main reason for stating 706 is because they didn't have enough power to hurt themselves and virtually all the gears look brand new throughout the drive train. How much work is involved with putting the 501 in? If they sell adapters, then it's not just a bolt-in deal, right? Nobody local has done such a swap, so I have no experts to turn to. What about the TA? Is the eliminator gonna save me weight? I would like to run a TA, but the 806 I have access to is TA delete, 3pt delete. How much weight would a 706 save me? I could still put the 806 tins on it for the look I want. cut axles off as short as possible remove top cover and replace with a plate, remove all draft sensing. To get the 806 to 7500 is a chore and then can you balance it? In "The Hook" magazine there is an ad where you can buy custom adapter plates & flywheels to put the RD501 in an IH. I have a RD501 myself and would like to see it in a 660. I've seen several 460/560 466 transplants and one with a RD501. I know of one with a 466D in it in Illinois that runs good but doesn't pull that heavy, just 5500 & 6500. I think a 560 with the RD501 or better yet a 466 with a 510 kit would be pretty cool, especially when you put it on those JD's. Is it doable? If not, what about a 706? We have some hot 4020's running 466 non-turboed, and I think they need some competition! Obviously, pressed wheels and narrow front. I would be willing to remove the PTO, and only have one hydraulic remote. Is that possible? I have access to an 806 with TA delete, and no three point. How light could I get it? I would want to pull 7500. I am considering building a puller out of an 806, using a RD501 that a neighbor has.
